If the given element is subject to mechanical damage it has to undergo metal type of processing. If the suffered damages are serious (for instance: holes) they are filled with various metal inserts. Smaller damages are filled with liquid metal. Lack of professional repair may lead to the total damage of the given element or it may cause for the few times fold increase of the repair costs, i.e. grinding sample of the given detail covered with an old coating shall lead to severe damages as well as the necessity for input of unnecessary labour.
Galvanic coating is very hard and it is practically impossible for its removal without the application of chemical compounds.
Grinding is executed with the application of a vibration shield which contains the large amount of small grinding bits which are characterised by simultaneous activity. Grinding shield bits act as stand alone cutting devices, similar to the teeth of a grinding machine unit. Thanks to the execution of the grinding process, surfaces of small degree of roughness are obtained, at the same time suffering the very small degree of loss of the processed material. The grinding process is executed within a few phases (from 2 to 8 attempts) each time changing the granulation of the grinding material. Solid grinding constitutes the basis of the properly executed renovation process. Errors within the art of grinding may be spotted with a naked eye. Execution of polishing, nickling or chroming processes will not repair the aforementioned drawback.
The process of polishing constitutes a further phase. It is connected to the processing of metal, aimed at the removal of any cases of unevenness from the surface which is subject to processing as well as to ensuring a shiny and mirror like looks. The polishing of surfaces is applied for both the preparation of the supporting ground metal surface prior the execution ofthe process of application of copper, nickel and galvanic chrome coatings and is applied as the finishing of the surface upon its covering.
WITH THE APPLICATION OF THE PROPER POLISHING PROCESS NO VISIBLE LOSS OF MATERIAL MAY BE ENCOUNTERED, WHAT MAY OCCUR IS ONLY ITS LEVELLING.
